(Hanoi). The Environmental Protection Tax Law (EPTL) was adopted by the National Assembly in 2010 and came into effect from 2012. After nearly 5 years of implementation, the EP tax policy has achieved the expected objectives and requirements (on institutionalization of the Party and Government’s mainstream and policy on environmental protection; encouraged economic development linked to environmental pollution reduction; increased environmental protection consciousness of the whole society; contributed to reasonable resource mobilization from society, generating additional revenue to resolve environmental matters...). However, during implementation of the EP tax policy, there have been incurred obstacles and constraints (regarding taxable subject, taxing point and tax schedule for environmental protection). The EPTL needs to be revised to overcome the obstacles and constraints. For preparation of the draft law, the Ministry of Finance and the GIZ Programme “Macroeconomic Reforms/Green Growth” will organize a Workshop Consultation on Revision of the EPTL on August, 31Th 2017 in Da Nang City together to collect the comments and recommendations of the central and local agencies to the draft law.
